Negative, I am not that guy you're talking about. I'm a professional photographer working for At The Front with actual combat experience and good gear. Now let's start again. I'm not some tick turd looking to ruin your fantasy, we're just looking to get some good shots of the reenactor hobby.

The CHG had problems with a photographer who was wearing a German impression at several Camp Roberts Battles. He would continuosly cross the lines. All the GI's were about to engage him with small arms fire when he would say, "Hey, I'm a photographer!"
He was pissing off a lot of guys because he would cross the lines on a motorcycle which drew everyone's attention. It has nothing to do with any fantasy, the guy was drawing more attention than the German Reenactors. He also neary got run over by a tank trying to get a photo while laying prone and failed to see this as unsafe. The guy is unsafe and causes a distraction. We wanted to make sure that was not who you were. Also, you have to get permission from the CHG board to photograph any CHG reenactments. You also have to fall in with a unit (with their permiission) and be part of the group for the event. You are not the 1st photographer we have encountered.
If you want to go with us, first get permission from the CHG board: http://sites.google.com/a/chgww2.net/contacts/ Second, get permission from our Lieutenant at: bmckenna05 at gmail.com.
If both approve, then you are welcome to hook up with us. If you want to grab a rifle and come out without your camera, you are welcome to come out with us. In both cases, you must have permission and the proper impression. We are not trying to be difficult. Those are just the rules that everyone has to follow. Reading the above stuff about the difficulty we have had with that other photographer, you should understand why we stick to the letter of the law on the rules.

Hey folks, checking in!
PFC Monty "Cassino" Chavez from the 2/506th PIR, 101st AB Division checking in.
I am planning on attending the upcoming PTO battle in SLO and thought it was time to get registered.
I'm looking forward to finally getting to do a Marine impression. My grandfather was a career Marine. He enlisted in 1939, was stationed at Ewa Airfield on December 7, 1941 and spent the rest of the war island hopping and working on airfields. After the war, he became a tanker and later a tank platoon commander, which he did in Korea. After Korea, he returned stateside and eventually became Provost Marshall at both 29th Palms and then Okinawa.
He retired as a Captain led a successful life as a cop, part time actor, loving husband, father and grandfather before reporting for his Final Duty in November 2007. I'm looking forward to being able to honor his service.
